Bristol Airport is just a 20-minute drive from Bristol city centre, offering access to over 100 destinations across the UK, Europe, the US, Canada, and Africa, including Amsterdam, Paris, Cancún, and Orlando. Heathrow Airport is also under two hours away.
In addition to strong airport links, Bristol is home to the UK’s most centrally located deep-sea port, with 67% of the UK population within 250 kilometres.
The region has excellent links with the rest of the UK:
Bristol and Bath are connected by an 11-minute train journey.
The cities are also easily navigable on foot or by bike and are linked by the 13-mile Bristol and Bath Railway Path, an off-road route ideal for commuting between the two major cities.
The West of England is leading the UK towards zero carbon, investing in sustainable transport with £2 billion allocated to MetroWest’s rail expansion. Most of First’s fleet is now low-emission, including 99 bio-methane buses that cut emissions by up to 85%.
Bristol, the UK’s first cycling city, is enhancing walking and cycling routes along 30 high streets and 55 continuous paths. A £90 million investment in "Future Transport Zones" will support low-carbon innovation, from testing clean technologies to smart tech like driverless cars.
